Off The Chest
This project serves the Black sapphic/queer community, offering visibility and challenging societal norms around body autonomy and gender euphoria. Using 120mm I am documenting Black sapphic/lesbian/queer individuals who have had top surgery. Through intimate, documentary-style portraits, I aim to challenge the narrative that chest freedom is only for masculine-identified folks. Many lesbians experience gender dysphoria but don’t identify as men. I want to highlight the beauty, diversity, and joy of Black sapphic/queer people embracing their bodies on their own terms.
